India defeated Sri Lanka and won the ODI series.

The second ODI was played on 12.1.2013 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat.Opener  Nuvanitu Fernando was the only one to cross 50 runs, while all the other players were unable to face the Indian bowling and got out with few runs.As a result, the Sri Lankan team lost all wickets at the end of 39.4 overs and added 215 runs.Siraj and Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets each for Indian bowling.

India chasing the target

India set a target of 216 runs in the second innings of the match. Key players like captain Rohit Sharma, Subman Gill and Virat Kohli got out in short runs and gave the Indian fans a big shock.

But KL Rahul, who played responsibly, was the main reason for the team’s success by crossing a half-century.

In the end, the Indian team won by 219 runs losing only 6 wickets at the end of 43.2 overs.

With this, the Indian team has won the three-match series 2-0.
